You have been hearing a ton about Windows 11, no doubt. Some of you have even had your computer automatically upgrade to it. Because the roll out has been happening for a bit now (since October 5, 2021), it has had time for many opinions to be formed about it. For two decades I have always heard “My friend said it was super buggy, so I am going to wait until they work all of the bugs out before I get it.” This statement used to stand true in days of old, but not anymore. Microsoft has been releasing stable operating systems for quite a while now. However, that does not mean that you will love the changes. Although some are subtle, the most notable changes that you will see at first glance are:
1.) The start menu is no longer on the left side of the task bar, it is now centered.
2.) New desktop backgrounds
3.) Widgets have been upgraded and there are more of them
4.) upgraded search features
5.) upgraded security
6.) Teams is built into Windows now
That is a small sampling of the changes. Although, the start menu has been moved to the center of the taskbar, which by far is the most noticeable change made by Microsoft visually, it is still intuitive and easy to use.
All of this to say, some people do not like change and for those people, Windows 10 will not go end of life until 2025, so you have plenty of time to get used to the idea of Windows 11. But, for those that like to stay up to date with the most secure operating systems at all times, this upgrade might be for you. Here is a YouTube video that shows you a bit of the new features of Windows 11, it is worth a watch.
